The Garcia Family Memorial Scholarship
The Garcia Family Memorial Scholarship is offered due to the generosity of the Garcia family in honor of long-time teacher, and DePue Alumni Foundation co-founder Keith Garcia. Mr. Garcia spent a great deal of time and effort committed to the academic and personal success of students at DePue Schools and in the community. This $600 scholarship is available for high school students graduating with the following:
· Three years of high school science courses with a “B” average (additional preference given to students with four years of science)
· Designed plan for college/continuing education
To apply
Qualifying students must submit a 250-word essay about a science related topic such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Astronomy, etc. Include details of an experience or something learned during high school and how this knowledge was used in the student’s life.
The scholarship essay and verification of the above requirements should be submitted to the school office to be forwarded to DePue Alumni Foundation or mailed to PO BOX 105, DePue, IL, 61322.
Our Vision
The DePue Alumni Foundation endeavors to create and provide greater opportunities for DePue students through website networking support, and annual scholarships. Moreover, the Foundation strives to build community support and membership through promoting the history, values, and traditions of DePue Schools.
